In this 124-page book in Nähñu and Spanish three native speakers of Mezquital Nähñu from the village of Dextho are interviewed by Jesús Salinas Pedraza. The three elders, one woman and two men, recount their experiences from 1910 to 1985, including first-person histories of the Mexican Revolution and conflict over land with a neighboring village. Nähñu is known as Mezquital Otomi in the literature on languages of Mexico. About 300,000 people speak one or more of the nine Otomi languages in Mexico, including about 88,000 speakers of Mezquital Nähñu.
